EN MIS OBRAS contemplamos canicas de cristal, papel arrugado, pequeñas piedras, trozos de madera, cosas encontradas a la orilla del mar, modeladas por el paso del tiempo, por el aire y el agua, objetos que nos hablan de sus vivencias, realizadas sobre un fondo gris plano que contrasta con las texturas delicadas pintadas en estilo hiper-realista. Este contraste se evidencia especialmente cuando pinto papel o tela arrugada, dividiendo el cuadro en dos áreas bien delimitadas, significan la dualidad del ser humano. Es mi manera poética y actual de representar el yin y el yang. La esfera o canica de cristal es un elemento que se encuentra en casi toda mi pintura, es el nexo de unión, y simboliza al ser humano en diferentes circunstancias. Cada persona, al observar en profundidad estos objetos-símbolo, descubre e interpreta el mensaje de forma diferente al artista, es en este momento el espectador el verdadero creador.
IN MY PAINTINGS I
contemplate seemingly inanimate objects—glass marbles, wrinkled paper, small
pebbles, weathered pieces of wood, and other items forming strange portraits
that evoke a whole existence, all on a flat background that contrasts with
their delicate texture painted in hyperrealistic style. This contrast between a
flat surface and other textures is particularly strong when I paint paper or
creased material, thus dividing the painting into two completely delimited
areas, giving an aesthetic and modern outlook on the meaning of man’s duality,
the yin and yang, positive and negative. The sphere or glass marble found in
nearly all my paintings represents the nexus that links the elements of the
whole work and symbolizes the human being. Each viewer, studying the meaning of
these object-symbols in depth, will discover and decipher the message in a
personal way, different from the artist’s, therefore transforming the spectator
into a creator.
